Some core systems cannot be replaced soon, and banking cores, insurance platforms and government interfaces still rely on SOAP, fixed-width files or older formats. We place a REST gateway in front of them to translate protocols, normalise obscure field names, and add the caching and circuit breakers that stop a slow backend from taking your website down. New applications work against a clean, documented API, and when the legacy system is eventually retired, only the gateway needs to change.
